Disaster Recovery

All our sites and applications are hosted on secure servers in Data Centres. They each have a unique identifier and separate database making them independent of each other.

Solvd DataVault: Geographically dispersed replication

The back-up procedure is ultra reliable strategy so that sites, filestore and applications can be restored very quickly and easily from the night before and provides customers with peace of mind in the event of disaster recovery.

Every site consists of a set of files and a database which each night are initially backed up on the server itself.

Once backed up they are then transferred to another stand by contingency server in a geographically separate Data Centre and then restored onto the Server in readiness for it to be switched over at any time. An exact replica backup process goes the other way to provide full secure fail over from one server to the other.

As an extra contingency both backup sets are copied nightly to another in-house server and one of the sets restored so that sites can be switched to this sever in the event of problems with both other servers/or Data Centres at the same time.

This means that customer sites will have very minimal if any disruption in the event of a hardware problem and allows Solvd to investigate and fix issues on the main server while the sites are still up and running on another server. It also means that if there are major problems in the Data Centre (power, network etc) then we can switch to the contingency server in the separate Data Centre.
