Building apps is different from building larger scale desktop or web based applications. There are different challenges and opportunities but most skills are reasonably transferable as all software needs to be stable, responsive and secure.

Apps with their “1-app-1-job” design philosophy raise usability and visual design to the fore with around a third of development time spent in “polishing” the app to make the slider slide just so or the glare on the buttons consistent across multiple screens.

Here at Solvd we harness our development skills to create as much cross platform re-usable code as possible so that we can spend our time on the app facets that really matter to the end user – usability.

App Design & Build

Utilising common components for business logic, database access and storage, textual updates and notification via web services we can build beautiful intelligent apps that can be easily updated interface to external systems.

Once an app design is approved by the customer we analyse the use case and mock-ups to identify reusable areas and produce an internal design of what software objects and data are needed and where. Code is developed with interaction between the developers who are writing the system logic and the designers who are creating graphical elements for buttons, icons, notifications etc.

Solvd aim to give customers early visibility of the app during the build phase to keep customers informed of progress and any changes made during the build phase.

Approval

Once the coding is finished a video of the app in action with a user navigating through the various screens is produced for the customer to give them clear picture of the application

Acceptance testing via developer builds can be produced for identified customer hardware prior to store submission to allow you to test the app on your target hardware and software platforms.
